A new update on Fundraising!
WE DID IT! THE CHECKS ARE IN THE MAIL!
The checks are currently being deposited to our Boys and Girls Club in Charlestown.
I spoke with the director of the club yesterday and her voice was full of gratitude. We hope to tour the club when we are
in Boston. It will be very interesting to see the fruits of our fundraising!
WE MADE OUR GOAL! WE CONTINUE TO BE UNSTOPPABLE!
We want to remind you that all money that is donated
will go directly to the Boys and Girls Club, as hotel and plane fare is our personal responsiblity. We hope you will
consider a tax deductible donation to "The Boys and Girls Club of Charlestown". If you donate by check please include
the tax id number 042-103-922 at the bottom of your check on the 'for____' line to keep your
tax records accurate. You may mail your donations to our home addresses, or pledge your donation to us through

Little Factoids About Our Running!
Connie and Joe are being interviewed in Boston! It is amazing how excited friends and family have been...the
support is overwhelming. The interviewer in Boston is a former student of Joe's. I'll include the article as soon
as it is published.
Kevin (our biggest fan in Aviano, Italy) has made running music CD's for us! He put them in the mail this
week, and we hope to have them loaded and put on our MP3 players to keep us going. I knew he would think of a way to
support us from afar! Thanks, Kev! UPDATE: Kevin will be toasting us with fine red wine on Sunday night!
He has promised to "watch us" on the internet as we run!
Connie has only 5 more days until she "crosses over" in the big 50!

How To Pass the Time on the TREADMILL!
Deer's Looking at YOU kid!
Being in Colorado is great! Even if you are on a treadmill. Recently, I was GLAD I was on the treadmill
versus the trail. I have a window near the treadmill and saw a bobcat run through my yard...not once but twice.
Unfortunately, he did not stop to look at me! (or, maybe fortunately?)
Friday when I was running, I saw a shadow at the window...the shadow grew bigger, and bigger...until there was
a large deer staring at me through the window. She seemed totally disinterested in what I was doing. She looked
at me for a bit...and then went back to eating the snow! I swear she said "Deers looking at you kid!"
Trail runs are fun...except when you think you see a bear...a bit of an adrenaline rush! Turns out the
"bear" was a tree stump. I had to laugh, with what little breath was left at mile 16! All the more reason to make
sure I wear my contacts on this marathon!
We would greatly appreciate your donations to The Boys and Girls Club of Charlestown. Funds raised
will be dedicated to these pressing needs: upgraded computers in the club's computer lab, supplies for education and art programs,
new furnishings for the renovated building, uniforms for the traveling sports teams, and new equipment for the club's game
room. The Boys and Girls Club has been a safe haven for Charlestown's youth since 1893. Over the past 111 years
thousands of boys and girls have found a place that both supports them and challenges them to discover their talents and reach
their full potential. This is the 6th year the club has fielded a marathon team...we feel honored and privileged to
be among fifteen folks who believe in children just as we do. We can make a difference with your help. Thank you for
